A Pragmatic Trial to Evaluate a Guideline-Based Colony Stimulating Factor Standing Order Intervention and to Determine the Effectiveness of Colony Stimulating Factor Use as a Prophylaxis for Patients Receiving Chemotherapy With Intermediate Risk for Febrile Neutropenia - Trial Assessing CSF Prescribing Effectiveness and Risk (TrACER)
Breast
Cancer Symptom Management
Gastro-Intestinal (GI)
Lung
Adult
This randomized clinical trial studies prophylactic colony stimulating factor management in patients with breast, colorectal or non-small cell lung cancer receiving chemotherapy and with risk of developing febrile neutropenia. Patients receiving chemotherapy may develop febrile neutropenia. Febrile neutropenia is a condition that involves fever and a low number of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell) in the blood. Febrile neutropenia increases the risk of infection. Colony stimulating factors are medications sometimes given to patients receiving chemotherapy to prevent febrile neutropenia. Colony stimulating factors are given to patients based on guidelines. Some clinics have an automated system that helps doctors decide when to prescribe them when there is a high risk of developing febrile neutropenia. Gathering information about the use of an automated system to prescribe prophylactic colony stimulating factor may help doctors use colony stimulating factor when it is needed.

CIRB, A Randomized, Phase II Efficacy Assessment of Multiple MET Kinase Inhibitors (Cabozantinib [NSC #761968], Crizotinib [NSC #749005], Savolitinib [NSC #785348], and Sunitinib [NSC #736511]) in Metastatic Papillary Renal Carcinoma (PAPMET)
Kidney Tumors
Adult
This randomized phase II trial studies how well cabozantinib-s-malate, crizotinib, volitinib, or sunitinib malate work in treating patients with kidney cancer that has spread from where it started to nearby tissue or lymph nodes or to other places in the body. Cabozantinib-s-malate, crizotinib, volitinib, and sunitinib malate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

CIRB, Randomized Phase II Trial in Early Relapsing or Refractory Follicular Lymphoma
Hematology
Adult
This phase II trial studies how pembrolizumab works before and after surgery in treating patients with stage III-IV high-risk melanoma. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving pembrolizumab before and after surgery may work better in treating melanoma.

This phase III trial studies how well standard systemic therapy with or without definitive treatment (prostate removal surgery or radiation therapy) works in treating participants with prostate cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Addition of prostate removal surgery or radiation therapy to standard systemic therapy for prostate cancer may lower the chance of the cancer growing or spreading. standard systemic therapy alone.

CIRB, A Randomized Phase II Trial of Carboplatin-Paclitaxel with or Without Ramucirumab in Patients with Unresectable Locally Advanced, Recurrent, or Metastatic Thymic Carcinoma
Rare Tumors
Adult
This randomized phase II trial studies how well carboplatin and paclitaxel with or without ramucirumab work in treating patients with thymic cancer that has spread to other places in the body, has come back, or cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as ramucirumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. It is not yet known if giving carboplatin and paclitaxel with or without ramucirumab will work better in treating patients with thymic cancer.

CIRB, A Phase II Randomized Trial of Olaparib (NSC-747856) Administered Concurrently With Radiotherapy Versus Radiotherapy Alone for Inflammatory Breast Cancer
Breast
Adult
This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy with or without olaparib works in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Olaparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy with or without olaparib may work better in treating patients with inflammatory breast cancer.
